Frequently Asked Questions

Real answers to the questions our customers ask most.

General

What brands does Greeneway carry?
We carry Grand Design, Flagstaff by Forest River, Puma by Palomino, and Cedar Creek by Forest River. We were one of the first eight Grand Design dealers in the country and have carried them since day one. Check out our full brands page for details on each line.
Are you open on weekends?
Yes — we're open Saturday for sales, service, and parts. We're closed Sundays so our team can get out and camp too. Check our contact page for current hours by department.
Do I need an appointment to browse inventory?
Nope. Walk-ins are welcome any time we're open. Our lot is open for browsing and a salesperson will be happy to help when you're ready. If you want dedicated one-on-one time, calling ahead doesn't hurt — but it's never required.
Where are you located?
We're at 8220 State Highway 13 South in Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494 — right on the main highway, easy to find from anywhere in central Wisconsin. Get directions here.
How long has Greeneway been in business?
Since 1963. Mick Ferkey founded Greeneway RV over 60 years ago, and it's still family-owned and operated today. Mick was inducted into the RV Industry Hall of Fame in 2022. Three generations, one mission: help families enjoy the camping lifestyle.
Can I tour the service facility?
Absolutely. We're proud of our 29-bay service facility and our RVTI-certified technicians. Just ask at the front desk and we'll walk you through. Seeing where your RV will be worked on builds confidence — and that's the point.

Sales & Buying

Do you negotiate on price?
We price our units competitively from the start, but we're always willing to have a conversation. We'd rather earn your business with fair pricing and great service than play games with the sticker. Come in, tell us what you're working with, and we'll do our best.
Can I buy an RV online or remotely?
Yes. We've sold units to customers across the country. We can handle paperwork electronically, arrange financing by phone, and either deliver to you or set up a streamlined pickup experience when you arrive. Give us a call at (715) 325-5170 to get started.
Do you offer delivery?
We do. Delivery is available throughout Wisconsin and beyond — pricing depends on distance and the unit. We'll coordinate everything so it arrives ready to enjoy. Ask your salesperson for a delivery quote on any unit.
What's included in the sale?
Every unit sale includes a thorough pre-delivery inspection (PDI), a full buyer orientation/walkthrough, LP check, battery check, and a review of all systems. We don't rush you out the door — you'll leave knowing how everything in your RV works.
Do you take trade-ins?
We do, and we make it easy. You can submit your trade-in details and photos through our online trade-in form to get a preliminary value before you even come in. We accept trade-ins on both new and pre-owned RV purchases.
What happens during a walkthrough/orientation?
Your walkthrough is a hands-on, one-on-one session where our team walks you through every system in your RV — electrical, plumbing, LP, slide-outs, awning, appliances, everything. We want you confident and comfortable before you hit the road. Plan for about an hour, sometimes more for larger units.

Financing

What credit score do I need to finance an RV?
There's no hard cutoff. We work with multiple lenders who cover a range of credit profiles — from excellent to rebuilding. The best way to find out where you stand is to fill out our pre-qualification form. It's quick, no-obligation, and won't impact your credit score.
Do you work with multiple lenders?
Yes. We have relationships with several banks and credit unions that specialize in RV lending. This means we can shop your deal to find the best rate and terms for your specific situation — not just one take-it-or-leave-it offer.
Can I get pre-approved before choosing a unit?
Absolutely, and we encourage it. Getting pre-approved lets you shop with confidence because you know exactly what you can work with. Fill out our financing pre-qualification form and our team will reach out within one business day.
What's the typical down payment for an RV?
It varies by lender, credit profile, and unit — but generally 10–20% is common. Some programs allow less with strong credit. We'll help you understand your options when you go through the pre-qualification process.
Do you offer financing for used RVs?
Yes. Our lender network includes programs specifically for pre-owned units. Rates and terms will depend on the age, condition, and value of the unit, along with your credit profile. Used RV financing is one of our most common requests.

Service & Repair

Do you service RVs you didn't sell?
Yes — our service department is open to all brands and all owners, regardless of where you purchased. If it's an RV, we can work on it. Our 29-bay facility and RVTI-certified technicians handle everything from routine maintenance to major repairs.
What certifications do your technicians have?
Our technicians are RVTI-certified (RV Technical Institute), which is the industry gold standard. Several also hold specialized certifications in electrical, LP gas, and appliance repair. We invest in ongoing training because your RV deserves qualified hands.
How do I schedule service?
You can fill out our online service request form or call us at (715) 325-5170. Our service advisors will confirm your appointment and give you an idea of timing. We try to get you scheduled as quickly as possible.
How long does a typical repair take?
It depends on the job. Simple maintenance items can often be same-day or next-day. Larger repairs or warranty work that requires parts ordering may take longer. We'll give you an honest timeline upfront and keep you updated throughout the process.
Do you offer after-hours drop-off?
Yes. We have a key drop box at our service entrance so you can drop off your unit anytime. Just fill out the drop-off envelope with your info, leave the keys inside, and our team will contact you the next business morning.

Warranty

Will you do warranty work if I bought my RV somewhere else?
Yes. We are an authorized warranty service center for all the brands we carry, regardless of where you purchased. If your RV is under manufacturer warranty and we carry the brand, we can handle the claim. Learn more about warranty service.
How does the warranty claim process work?
You bring the unit in (or we come to you via mobile service), our technicians diagnose the issue, and we submit the claim to the manufacturer on your behalf. Once approved, we order parts and complete the repair. We handle the paperwork — you just get your RV back fixed.
What if my warranty claim is denied?
If a manufacturer denies a claim, we'll explain exactly why and walk you through your options. Sometimes it's a coverage gap; other times we can provide additional documentation and resubmit. Either way, we'll advocate for you and give you a clear path forward.
How long does warranty repair typically take?
Warranty repairs can take longer than standard repairs because they require manufacturer approval and sometimes special-order parts. We do our best to expedite the process — our goal is to keep you informed at every step so you're never left wondering.
What brands do you service under warranty?
We are authorized to perform warranty work for Grand Design, Forest River (including Flagstaff and Cedar Creek), and Palomino (including Puma). These are the brands we sell and know inside and out.

Mobile Service

What areas do you cover for mobile service?
Our mobile service team covers the entire state of Wisconsin and travels to campgrounds, storage lots, and private residences. Whether you're in Madison, Milwaukee, or a campground up north — we'll come to you. Learn more about mobile service.
What repairs can be done on-site vs. in-shop?
Our mobile technicians handle a wide range of work on-site: appliance repairs, electrical troubleshooting, plumbing, roof and sealant work, slide-out adjustments, and winterization. Major structural work or jobs requiring a lift are better suited for our 29-bay shop.
How do I schedule mobile service?
Same as regular service — fill out our online service request form and mention you need mobile/on-site service, or call us at (715) 325-5170. We'll coordinate a time and location that works for you.
Do you do winterization on-site?
Yes. On-site winterization is one of our most popular mobile service requests. We'll come to your storage location and properly winterize your entire RV so it's protected through the Wisconsin winter. Spring de-winterization is available too.
Can you troubleshoot solar or electrical issues on-site?
Absolutely. Our mobile techs carry diagnostic equipment for solar, 12V, and 120V systems. We can diagnose and repair most electrical issues right at your location, including inverter problems, battery bank issues, and solar panel performance concerns.

Insurance Repair

Do you work directly with my insurance company?
Yes. We work with all major insurance carriers and handle the communication directly. We'll submit estimates, coordinate approvals, and manage the repair from start to finish. You deal with us — we deal with the insurance company. Learn more about insurance repair.
What types of damage do you repair?
We handle all types of RV damage — collision, storm, hail, water intrusion, fire, and animal damage. Our 29-bay facility is equipped for everything from minor cosmetic repairs to full structural rebuilds.
Do I need to get multiple estimates?
Most insurance companies only require one estimate from a qualified repair facility, and we qualify. That said, check with your adjuster — some policies have specific requirements. We'll provide a detailed, itemized estimate that insurance companies trust.
How long does an insurance repair take?
Timeline depends on the scope of damage and parts availability. Minor repairs may take a week or two; major collision or water damage can take longer. We provide a timeline estimate upfront and keep you updated throughout. Our goal is to get you back on the road as quickly as quality allows.

Trade-In

How do you determine trade-in value?
We evaluate condition, age, mileage, market demand, and comparable sales. Photos help a lot — submit them through our trade-in form and we can give you a preliminary value before you even come in. Final value is confirmed with an in-person inspection.
Do you accept trade-ins on used RV purchases?
Yes. Trade-ins are accepted on both new and pre-owned purchases. If you're upgrading from one used unit to another, we'll work the trade into the deal just the same.
Can I get a trade-in value before coming in?
Yes — that's exactly what our online trade-in form is for. Submit your unit details and a few photos, and our team will get back to you with a preliminary value within one business day. No obligation, no pressure.
Do you buy RVs outright without me buying one from you?
On a case-by-case basis, yes. If you're looking to sell your RV outright without purchasing from us, reach out and we'll let you know if it's something we can work with. It depends on current inventory needs and the unit itself.
